More Gossamer Blue, Project Life June 2015

Wow, it's been awhile since I stopped by, life has been a whirlwind! I actually created these cards and PL pages a few weeks back and am just now uploading them. So June Project Life with the June kit, what a novel idea! :) LOVE the gold and pinks with pineapples and flamingos in this one...

And here's my PL for June, such a fun month with lots going on...

I just love to look back at these moments that are moving so fast in this joyful, crazy, beautiful life of mine! Gives me a chance to relive them and hopefully, my girls will look back at these someday and not only know, but actually see how much love is in their lives! Happy weekend, friends! Thanks for stopping!!!

Birthday Layout w Gossamer Blue

Happy Saturday! Just a quick update w the layout from my May kit.
This came together easily and I added a few details to some of the die cuts I created w my Silhouette like this snow cone w a few candied enamel dots and sugary Wink of Stella pen accents. Here's the left page...
And the right page...
It's HOT here and we had the ADA Tour de Cure this morning and spent the afternoon swimming so feeling a tad exhausted this evening! The girls are baby-sitting the neighbors so Eric and I are going to relax in the air conditioning and catch up on our DVR...

Gossamer Blue May

Is it seriously past the 4th of July? Oh me oh my, time needs to slow down! But it won't, I sadly realize as we are preparing to have a middle schooler living among us!?!?! Eeeeek! I did have a few days off and dug into some kits. Cards galore from the May Gossamer Blue kit and I am loving some of these, just fresh and fun!

I had fun mixing the random font letters to spell my sentiment. Next up, I used the wooden Sweet to create a sweet little thank you that happens to be my favorite creation from this kit. Not sure if it's the vintage like yellow flowered paper or the pretty blue polka dot one, but seriously had so much fun making this one!
This is my second favorite...
I swoon over the wooden camera and those gold hearts! So sweet!
And another thank u, just for fun with a few scraps. You may have noticed the envelopes behind each of my cards. It's typical to not want to part with anything pretty and these kits are packed with this problem. I pulled out my envelope punch board from Stampin' Up and whipped these up to create some unique sized cards and matching envelopes and use up the pretty paper...why hadn't I thought of that earlier?!?

You can check out Gossamer Blue and their kits here. I created a layout for Addison's birthday party with the rest of this so I'll share that later this week, hopefully before too much time goes by! :) Hope you're enjoying your summer as much as we are!

Wine Time

Using up some older kits and catching up on fun memories that seem like forever ago, but in all reality just several months! :) Took a trip to Napa and Sonoma with my sister in law and we each brought friends to catch up with so maybe catching up should be my title here but I figured "wine" might catch more of your attention!
I put this one together fairly quickly, using circles as my go to to punch out all the cards and memorabilia I happened to collect and actually keep from each winery we visited! I had something from almost every one but as the day moves on and you start sipping wine in the morning, well, you know how it goes, I sort of forgot to grab something from each one...I take full responsibility for that but can't take all the blame because my sister in law, Amy, is on a mission when it comes to visiting as many wineries as humanly possible when we go. I knew this from a previous getaway and the competition continued! :)
I usually print my journaling but took a homemade approach to this whole layout because it felt right! I love the wine bottle on the right side and treated the label as my place to journal. Who knew sitting next to an old friend in church could lead to a wine drinking vacation? I'd call that divine intervention, big time! :)
Great memories I hope to make again on my next adventure to wine country...Amy, if you're reading this, let the competition continue! :)

Project Life, May 2015

Another month in the books, thanks to the May Gossamer Blue kit! Hoping to get to some cards with the remainder yet this weekend. I had a metal drawer organizer sitting out for over a year and realized after trimming out the cut files and laying out all the embellishments and trinkets that come with the kit, what a great way to have all the pieces in view and use what I have on hand!

Here's the left page of the layout...

and the right page...

Hope you're enjoying a sunny Saturday wherever you are! The kids are swimming in our neighbors' pool with Eric this afternoon so maybe I can get a few of those cards created. :)

Project Life, April 2015

Here's a quick update on my Project Life album. Still plugging away and not really keeping up but enjoying the process so I figure that's just as important, right? :)

Summer has officially started here in SD but reminiscing about our fun trip to Cancun with friends several weeks back makes me crave a good mojito and that relaxation that only occurs on vacation!

I used my Gossamer Blue kit from April to complete this layout...here is the left page...

and right...

A fantastic and fun month. May was, too, but now that June has arrived I'm  hoping to catch up a little, on life and relaxation both! :) Happy Sunday!

Diabetes Blog Week: Changes

Today we're blogging about changes, whether it's medical advances, perception, changes I e made, etc.

Yes, things have changed drastically since I did the urine dipstick to determine my blood sugar or the beef or pork insulin to inject (wow, I AM old!:) when I was diagnosed. And for the meters, pumps, and pharmaceuticals I am sincerely grateful. But I know there has to be more! I don't know about a cure, I mean, of course I have hope. I will always hope. But I've accepted that this is my life, what I have now and how I deal with it all today is all I've got. I can accept that but I don't have to like it!

So change for me would probably be some form of closed loop system. I gave up vanity awhile back and even sported my Dexcom on my belly and my Omnipod pump on my arm in a bikini in Cancun last month without a care in the world. Hell I'll wear all sorts on contraptions if it means I don't have to fear an unexpected low or have guilt and nausea of a cursing high, just a smooth flattened line to a few days in a row, that's a change I have sincere hope will happen someday.

I joke with my family now that I'm like the bionic woman with my two attachments, I'll have to come up with something better if I get to add another few or larger ones to the ensemble! :)
